The Day With Dukee And Mia

Sunday fun day

“Whatcha watching?” Mia asked as she walked up to Dukee on the bench.

“A squirrel,” Dukee said and flicked his tail.

“Oh. What’s it doing?” Mia walked over to the narrow window.

“It’s drinking water out of that bowl by the flowers,” Dukee said.

“Oh yeah, they look cute when they drink,” Mia said.

After the squirrel ran up the tree, Dukee watched it for a few more minutes. It looked like the squirrel was wiping its face with it’s hands after getting a drink.

“They look cute when they wash their face too,” Dukee said.

Mia saw the squirrel through the narrow window and giggled, “yes they do.”

Dukee got up and hopped down off the bench. He walked through the kitchen and into the family room. Dukee then looked at his orange sparkle ball, walked up to it and batted it with his left paw. He ran after it and then hit it again. Mia turned around and walked toward the hallway. She watched Dukee while he plopped down by the ball and grabbed it with his claws. He pulled the ball close to his chest and kicked his back feet.

“You look silly when you do that,” Mia said.

Dukee rolled over to look at Mia. While still holding the ball, he kicked his back feet again. Dukee made Mia giggle again. But then he rolled back over and just clutched his ball with his paw. He was done playing for now.

Mia turned around and trotted over to the coffee table. She jumped up and walked over to her food dish. It’s time for a snack, she thought.

Some days are meant for fun and food. So, on this day if you are blessed with good food, family, and love, Mia and Dukee want you all to enjoy it and have some fun.
