“What is that?” Dukee looked at the big screen TV.
“I don’t know but it sure is big and ugly,” Mia glanced back at Dukee.
The two of them sat and watched a scene that was on the television. Mia’s Mom had the movie Rampage on with “The Rock” in it. The scene that captured their attention was where George the gorilla was fighting the prehistoric crocodile.
“Ooo lookout,” Mia said while she watched the gorilla.
“Why is that gorilla so big?” Dukee asked.
“Probably so it can beat that thing up,” Mia said.
“Good point. But I don’t know, that thing is bigger than the gorilla. And look at those teeth,” Dukee said.
“Well, you are bigger than me and I think that I could put up a good fight with you, if I wanted to,” Mia said.
“That’s true. You probably could,” Dukee said as he watched the movie.
Mia and Dukee watched intensely as the gorilla pounded on the crocodile. Just then, Mom walked back into the living room and sat down in her chair. She was surprised to see both Mia and Dukee watching the movie. But as the station went to a commercial break, Dukee walked over to Mia’s litter box cabinet and jumped up onto the blanket. He looked out the window in search for a squirrel. Mia then, jumped up onto the kitty tower and sat down alongside the cube.
“Could you imagine seeing those creatures in real life?” Mia whispered.
“Yeah, I don’t think that I would want to,” Dukee whispered back.
Instead of a squirrel coming into the front yard, a group of Ibis birds wandered in. Dukee and Mia watched the white birds as they pecked at the ground while walking. The birds walked around the yard for a few minutes looking for some good eats before they moved on.
“Where do you think they live?” Mia whispered.
“The birds? Probably in some trees somewhere,” Dukee said.
“If that big creature was real, do you think that it would eat those birds?” Mia asked.
“Umm, maybe. I could see a creature like that living near water where birds like to hang out,” Dukee said.
Mia glanced back at her Mom and saw that she was busy on her computer,” you’re lucky that Mom didn’t hear you talking,” she whispered.
“Oh, sorry,” Dukee whispered.
The two of them sat there for a while together and looked out the window. Mia glanced back at the television a couple of times to see how George the gorilla was doing against the crocodile. Dukee was no longer interested in the movie and would rather watch the critters in real life. But it wasn’t long before Dukee heard Auntie doing something in the other room. He jumped up onto the side table and walked to the other end. Dukee then, hopped down and went to see what Auntie was doing.
Since there was no longer anything going on outside, Mia turned around and laid down in the cube part of the tower. Occasionally Mia would glance toward the television to see how the gorilla fight was going. She enjoyed it but in case you hadn’t seen the movie yet, I won’t tell you the outcome.
