Officer Reese called the ranch and told them that they found the head of a horse and asked if they wanted to confirm that it was theirs. They told her that they trust her judgment and that they will accept their loss. Reese hung up the phone, and an officer she hadn’t met before walked over.
“Hi, I’m here to see Sheriff Brown,”
Officer Reese pointed and told the officer that the sheriff's office was down the hall. A few minutes went by, and sheriff Brown and the officer walked into the main room.
“Okay, everyone… As you know bike week has started, so as usual expect more traffic problems and such. Officer Benjamin, I want you on foot by the beach tonight with our new hire… Welcome officer Barkley,” sheriff Brown patted him on the back.
Officer Barkley nodded and smiled at everyone.
