After talking to the lady on the phone, sheriff Brown walked out of his office and told officer Jons that he was going to check out what the lady said. He hopped into his truck and headed toward the beach. The sheriff thinks the area is about seven miles north of the pier. There is a public park around there so he’s going to pull in there and check the beach.
The sheriff arrived and walked up the boardwalk to go onto the beach. Sure enough, he saw about a dozen of those creatures lying dead on the beach. There were a few people still there and saw the sheriff. A man walked up to him as sheriff Brown stepped onto the sand.
