Sheriff Brown was able to meet with Mr. Joseph Gunn in the late afternoon and tell him about the scales he found. They went to the pier to look around the area where the dog was killed and took a closer look at the scales that were still there.
“So what do you think?” Sheriff Brown asked.
“Well, it looks like the same kind of scales, but what are the odds?” Joseph holds a few in his hand.
“I guess, all that I can do is have someone patrol along the beach more often at night, just to be safe.” The sheriff looked around.
“Was the body of that beast ever found?” Joe asked.
“Well, the sheriff over there hasn’t called me about it yet, but it must be dead.” Sheriff Brown said.
“I highly doubt that even if it was still alive that it would come back here specifically.” Joe walked over to the railing of the pier and looked down.
