Officers Benjamin and Barkley decided to split up for a while, and Benjamin crossed the street to walk down on the beach. Barkley continued to patrol along the front of the businesses. For the bars, it’s been a busy night, but now it was getting close to closing time.

While on a short break at the gas station, officers Reese and Jackson heard officer Benjamin on the radio. He said that he found a body on the beach about a mile north of the pier. Reese radioed back, that they would be there in about five minutes, and pulled out of the gas station.

Officer Barkley called Benjamin on his phone to offer his assistance. Benjamin told him to continue patrolling until the businesses were closed and the streets were clear. Sheriff Brown arrived on the scene a few minutes later, as well as Reese and Jackson.

“Okay sheriff,” Reese said.

Officers Reese and Jackson got almost to the road when they heard gunfire. They ran back toward the scene and saw officer Benjamin on the ground bleeding. The sheriff, still pointing his gun, was starring at the water.

“What happened?” Reese knelt down by Benjamin.

“I’m okay, but it bit me in the leg,” Benjamin took off his belt.

“It?” Jackson quickly glanced around.

The sheriff put his gun away, “Yes it… I’m pretty sure that it’s the big one that everyone saw today, and this one is bigger than the first one we captured.
