Hello everyone. I hope that you all have had a nice holiday so far. Mine has been very nice and relaxing. I got to see my oldest niece before Christmas who I hadn’t seen in almost a year, so that was special to me. Otherwise it was just my dad, my sister, and I on Christmas. I don’t have any plans for new years eve so it should be relaxing as well. And thinking about the new year brings me to resolution’s.
With last years resolution’s or goals that many of us call them, I know that I met a few of them. I kept writing through the year even with my part time job which is good. And I even published my second book in October. I try not to make too many goals or make them too big. Because if you do and don’t meet them, it only hurts your own mental health and no one else’s.
Now for 2025, I haven’t really thought about resolution’s too much. I know that I want to keep writing because it is a nice outlet for me. I also would like to write and publish a book full of uplifting phrases, but not sure when that will be completed. I might even put together a third volume of “Spook Season Stories” but am not sure yet. I should work on the Christmas story I had started too for next year, but we’ll see.
As for the usual stuff that people do, like getting fit and eating healthier, it has not been a goal of mine. Since I started working again in 2023, I lost about fifty pounds and feel good about that. And I do try to throw healthy fruits and vegetables into my diet already, and I’m content with that.
As for any other goals made for this coming year, I’ve got nothing. I guess as I have gotten older, I just want to enjoy the moments as they come, and not worry about the future so much. Yes, at times, I wish I would have planned better for the future so things would be better for me, but that’s in the past. So now, I do what I can with what I got and just keep going. Yes, I do have worries about the future but I try not to let those worries consume me. Again, it would only hurt my well being.
If I were to dream big for 2025, I would like to sell at least a thousand copies of my first book. And it’s not that I would get paid a lot for them, but it would be the feeling I would get by selling that many. And then also to receive very good written reviews about my book would be a bonus. As fellow writers would agree, having written reviews about our books are very important to us. It helps with our sales and our egos.
In conclusion, do you have any goals or resolution’s for 2025? If you don’t, it’s okay. But sometimes setting at least one goal or resolution will give you something to push for. Maybe it could be saving a certain amount of money for a special vacation. Or maybe finishing a house project that you’ve been putting off. When you reach a goal, it gives you a feeling of achievement and that’s good. That feeling will empower you and that’s healthy. So, what is your goal?
Oh, and Have a happy and safe New Year.
As writers we know the difference between the possessive - Resolution's - and the plural RESOLUTIONS, just like in the photo that tops your piece. Let's (let us) not contribute to apostrophemania.
My main goal is to continue losing weight.
