Ben left Miss Nancy’s trailer and hurried over to the clown tent.

“Hey guess what?” Ben said as he rushed inside.

Stan and Jan looked at Ben while Vinny peeked out from behind the dressing curtain.

“What is it kid,” Stan said.

“The boss just told me that I can do my performance tonight.”

Stan looked at Jan with a surprised face while Jan shook her head back and forth.

“What’s the matter, I thought you guys would be happy for me,” Ben said as he went into a handstand.

“Looks like we’re going to town tonight,” Vinny said as he walked out from behind the curtain.

“Do you want to go to Rudy’s tonight?” Jan asked.

Ben got back to his feet, “you guys aren’t going to watch my show?”

Jan and Stan looked at Ben and Vinny spoke up.

“Look Ben, if you make it through your first night here, we’ll happily see your next performance,” Vinny said and walked back to his dressing table.

“Besides kid, if we see you when we get back, we’ll know that you knocked them dead,” Stan said and then looked at Jan.

Ben wasn’t sure why his co-workers were being so mysterious but he accepted it for now. He just knew that he needed to do his best in order to keep this job.
