Miss Nancy smiled at Ben and told him not to worry about Mr. Dave. She said that he was having a bad day. Ben nodded but was still concerned as Miss Nancy went on about his training.
“Do you understand now the hard work that you are going to have to do?” Miss Nancy asked.
“Yes I do. I know that it’s not going to be all fun, but I will have a chance to do what I always enjoyed doing,” Ben smiled.
“Okay then, let’s go meet Titto.”
Miss Nancy stood up and Ben followed after her. On the way to where Titto was training, Miss Nancy stopped and introduced Ben to Stan, Vinny, and Jan. They are three of the clowns who Ben will be working with.
“Miss Nancy, can we show you something that we have been working on?” Vinny asked.
“Sure, show this kid how it’s done,” Miss Nancy smiled at Ben.
The three of them did a short skit that reminded Miss Nancy of the three Stooges and the Marx Brothers combined.
Miss Nancy laughed and clapped, “that was really great. Keep up the good work.”
Ben had focused on all the moves that the three of them did and found them funny but not impressive. He wanted to put something special together that will really impress the audience.
“Miss Nancy, can I start training today? Even if it’s just for an hour?” Ben asked.
“Well, you might not get paid for it,” Miss Nancy said.
“That’s alright, I just want to start learning as much as I can now so I can start performing soon.”
Nancy was unsure of the rush that Ben had, but she agreed to it.
“Okay, let’s go see Titto then.”
Nancy and Ben walked into the tallest building on the property other then the big top tent. There Ben saw two acrobats up high and swinging from a bar. One male and one female. The male had the female by the hands while swinging upside down by his legs.
“Watch this Ben, this is their final move,” Nancy whispered.
