My Time Off From Writing

Just a short rundown

Well, I took two and a half weeks off from writing to give my brain somewhat of a rest. I think it helped some because I don't feel as stressed. My job lately was starting to affect me mentally so that was the main reason for the break. I still had to go to work so temporary down time from writing was the answer.

What I found out was that I missed writing. I had to force myself to do something other than writing. What I also remembered was that it's important to have some down time. We get so caught up in what needs to be done that we forget to take some time to enjoy life. I'm not saying that I have an extremely busy life. Because compared to some people's, mine might be boring. But, when you don't step away from the norm in your life, you can get stressed.

So, what did I do? Well, I spent time outside enjoying the weather and the sounds of nature. I also paid extra attention to my cat, which he loved. I finished reading a book that I started awhile back. “Careless Whiskers” by Miranda James. It was a murder mystery that involved a small town theater. It was interesting how two cats were incorporated into the story but it was solved with the help of a couple different people. And then I also hung out with my sister and watched movies.

Now, the last half of the three weeks that I took off I worked on a few different writings. I wrote a couple of Happy Thoughts posts for the coming weeks, a story for “The Day With Dukee And Mia”, a flash fiction story, and this post. Oh, and I worked on my book that is planned for this October. It might seem like a lot but when I don't have the pressure of a deadline, it seems a little easier. Either that or the break helped.

So if you're reading this, it means that I am back and writing again. Hopefully I will have a new story for you each week along with the Happy Thoughts post and the story of the cats in our house, (The Day With Dukee And Mia). I might even dabble with some romance stories, maybe. Thank you for hanging around and waiting on me. I am thankful to have all of you who support me and my writing. Most appreciated.
