It's Just Me

My thoughts as January comes to a close

In this particular post I want to first thank all of my subscribers, free and paid. Because of you reading my work, it gives me continuous hope and drive. Hope that someday I will have 100+ subscribers and the drive to keep writing. I Thank you.

I have now been writing regularly since 2021 and found that I really do enjoy it. Some of what I write might not interest all of you but it’s just a part of me. Those of you who do read my work on a regular basis have come across some interesting stuff I’m sure. I enjoy fiction most, scary and intrigue, but I also show a softer side of me. I like to include cuddly animals stories especially with cats. Plus I write uplifting and helpful notes as well, as some of you have seen. To me, everyone could use some new knowledge and encouragement from time to time.

One thing that I have come to realize this month is that many other writers are like me. No, not that they write the same genre’ or style that I write but as a creative person. Many creative people like to share their thoughts, ideas, and work with everyone, just like me. We like to make what is in our heads become visual. Yes, we would also love for the whole world to like, read, watch, and buy what we create, but that doesn’t happen. And anyone who seriously thinks that would happen needs to rethink it. I have also noticed that many of us like to help and encourage fellow creatives, which is cool to me.

In a world that sometimes seems selfish, there are many people who aren’t, and are very nice. When you find a group of people who support you with their words, and is honest, to me it’s a plus. Being a creative person, we can take a lot of judgement and criticism but it does get difficult. So, when a fellow creative gives me useful and positive insight, I am very grateful. I take what is said and use it in a constructive way. That also inspires me to pass it along to someone else who might find it helpful. What I am also very grateful for is when my work is appreciated enough to share. Whether it is told about through word of mouth or mentioned somewhere on social media.

In 2023 I self-published my first book and got some sales from it. I didn’t expect a lot of sales from it right away. What made me feel good was some of the reviews that I received. A fellow writer/blogger who I follow and read also wrote a sweet review of my book on one of her blog posts. The feeling of joy that I had with that surprise write up was heartwarming. To some people, our time and hard work put into something creative might not mean anything, but to fellow creatives we understand and appreciate it. Thank you to all of you who have said good things about my writing, I appreciate it very much.

Now, what’s in store for February? Well, I am still working my job part-time and working on my new book for October. I will also continue with the “Happy Thoughts” posts and two posts a week about Mia and Dukee. What I would like for you to tell me is, would you like to read more short stories or chapter serials? Your input is important to me because without your interest, I won’t have readers. So, what do you think? Short stories or chapter serials? Or do you have another idea? Please let me know in the comment section.

Who knows, I might even do a post like this more often. It’s one good thing about having my own newsletter, I can write almost anything. So, thanks again to all my subscribers and happy reading.
