We have been working with and exploring the internet for years now. Profiles on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and more. So much interaction with social media and the people surrounding it. We do research searches, shopping, blogging and even job searching. It’s a good way to stay in contact with the people you know but be careful with the people you really don’t know.
Scamming
With all that we learn about the internet, there is always someone out there one step ahead of us. As you put your information out there to get noticed by people, or for job opportunities, you’re opening a door for strangers. And just like we were taught as kids, strangers can be bad.
If you’re looking for a new home to buy or place to rent, you put your information out there. People can take your information and pretend that they are realtors or the company affiliated with them. Securities have gotten better to keep the average Joe out of your finances but they find other ways to take advantage of you and get your money. There are so many people out there pretending to be someone they are not, so be careful. They will take steps to convince you that they are someone you want them to be. When they win over your trust is when you can be taken advantage of.
Asking For Money
Anyone other than companies that you are familiar with and shop from, don’t give them money. If someone that you are wanting to work for asks you for money for something, they are not who you think they are. No company that hires you will expect you to pay for something and tell you that you will be reimbursed. Any company or person you don’t know who says they will reimburse you for any amount of money, do not believe them.
Any love interest from the internet who asks you for money and promises you something, do not believe them. You will be taken advantage of. I can not express this enough. There is also the new Bitcoin talk going around too. Before investing anything in Bitcoin make sure you know who you are talking with about it. There are people who will also rip you off by selling you Bitcoin.
Ask Questions
Always ask questions. Anyone you are unsure of ask them questions. They will tell you things that may sound legit but the more questions you ask the better. By asking them questions and getting to know them will help you determine if they are being honest. People who are trying to rip you off will eventually slip up. And do your own research as well if possible. And if something sounds to good to be true, it usually is.
