Sometimes we just need to take time away from our busy lives and enjoy our fur babies. Believe it or not, playing or even observing an animal can be quite relaxing. Seeing the enjoyment that the animal has fills our own hearts with joy.
The two cats in our house love to watch the birds and squirrels that visit our yard. And by watching the enjoyment and curiosity that they have makes me happy. Of course I do not know exactly what goes through their mind while facing a squirrel on the sill, but I see the excitement they have.
Our fur babies need stimulation and excitement in order to keep them mentally happy. So, with frequent visitors outside, it keeps them entertained. It is also good for all of us to get some physical exercise. So, with cats we grab a toy on a string or the laser light and get moving. Sometimes even a bouncing ball will get them going. But if you have a dog, more physical play is necessary because they tend to have a lot more energy.
Having animals to enjoy, I believe, is one of God's blessings for us. He knew the pleasure we would get from them would help us cope with the stresses we might have in life. By being able to watch silly monkeys at a zoo or seeing dolphins in their natural environment brings joy to most of us. And when we feel good is when we are able to get things done.
Until next time, go observe an animal, have a great week, and God bless.
