Samantha sat down on the bed and thought about her day so far. She felt stupid that she was led on by her boyfriend for a whole year. She remembered that her mother tried to warn her about some men and even mentioned to her that she didn’t trust her boyfriend. Tears started to flow again from Samantha’s eyes so she got up and walked into the bathroom. She took the wash cloth from the towel bar and got it wet in the sink. When she wiped her face, she heard a noise outside of the bedroom door.
William knocked on the door, “Sam, can I come in?”
“Sure, come on in,” Samantha said as she walked out of the bathroom.
“Is it alright that I call you Sam?” William asked.
"Sure, my friends call me Sam.”
"Good. Now, I know that you have some clothes with you but I have this dress that was my daughters. You can have it if you like it,” William smiled while he held up a flowery red spaghetti-strap dress.
“Oh, that is pretty but I don’t wear many dresses,” Samantha said.
William’s smiled disappeared, “oh, okay.”
Samantha saw the disappointment in his face, “okay William, I’ll try it on.”
William smiled again and handed the dress to her.
