The next morning after a short rest, Pa got up early and headed over to Drew’s house. They planned on meeting the other elders for morning juice at the school yard. There was no school in service today so it was a good place to have the meeting this time. Sunshine Fishwick was already at the school yard with her father Otto serving the beverages and fruit. Otto was pleased by the celebration that they had there for him last night but now it was time for a serious discussion.

As each elder slowly walked into the school yard, thoughts of survival was on their minds. Pa and Drew believed that their village should be safe for another year according to Niko, but one never really knows for sure. They understood their leaders concern too about the humans possible mind change on cutting down the rest of the forest. So, that was the plan for this meeting, whether or not they should move or wait.

As all the elder’s sat down at the school for the meeting, the rest of the village planned for a day of rest and play. Tia assisted Ma with breakfast for Jack and Olivia before they ventured out to play.

“It sure turned out to be a nice celebration for Mr. Fishwick last night, didn’t it Ma?” Tia said.

“Yes it did. He looked like he enjoyed himself too once your Pa changed his focus.”

Just then, there was a knock at the door.

When Tia opened the door, it was her cousin Bo. Bo rushed inside and paced like he was anxious about something.
