Pa invited Drew and his family over for dinner that evening and then went home. He wanted to tell Ma and Tia how the meeting went before his brother and family got there. Before he walked inside, he looked up into the trees. Pa noticed a rustling of leaves about fifty feet above him. He watched to see if he could tell what it was that was making some of the leaves fall.
Just then, Tia opened the door as she saw her Pa standing outside.
“What are you doing Pa?” Tia asked.
“Hello dear… I heard some movement up in the trees and was wondering what it was.”
Tia stepped out of the house and looked up, “I bet it’s just Greck.”
“Greck? What’s a greck?”
Tia giggled, “Greck is a bugger. He looks part lizard but can walk and climb like a fairy or human. Him and his friends seem to be hanging out in our woods more now. I met him when I was coming back from my trip to the edge of the woods,” She watched some leaves fall.
“Oh, okay. I haven’t seen one of those. And since you brought it up Tia, I don’t want you to venture out there again by yourself. It has gotten far too dangerous,” Pa put his arm around her.
“I won’t Pa. I understand,” Tia walked with her Pa into the house.
Ma heard the two of them come in and asked Pa how the meeting went. Before Pa told her, he mentioned that he invited Drew and his family over for dinner. Ma figured then that they all had something important to discuss.
“Does that mean that you want to wait and tell me what happened today?” Ma asked.
“No, I’ll tell you.”
Pa sat down at the table in their kitchen and Ma served him a nice drink of cherry juice. Tia sat down on the rocking chair that was near by and listened.
Pa took a drink and then went on to tell them that Otto (their leader) mentioned standing up to the humans. Some how he wants to let the humans know that there is life living in these woods and that they need to stay away.
