The people I work for are pretty cool. When I started working there over a year ago I was a bit concerned about the main boss. Not too many employees like the way she treated everyone. We rarely heard a thank you from her, and little things like luncheons were far and few in between.
But now that she left and her assistant is now our boss, it's been better. My new boss does have a bossy mom mentality but at least she says thank you most of the time and shows her appreciation for all the continuous work that we do for her and the store.
Yes, more money would be nicer but, just hearing thank you more often really feels good. I can't express this enough to employers. Showing your appreciation to your employees is so important. It boosts everyone's confidence and gives them a reason to want to come to work and do a good job. Other incentives are nice too such as gift cards but more sincere thank yous are very important.
The photo above is of my free lunch that my boss had planned for all of us this month. Two of my other managers had set up a nice display with sandwiches, fruit, granola, yogurt, chips, and desert. I don't know how many of these luncheons we'll have in a year but this was a nice start. Thank you ladies it was a healthy treat.
Until next time, have a wonderful day and God bless.
It is a great feeling to be appreciated.
