When I was a young girl, I never had the desire to be a mother. And when I grew up, I never did have any children of my own. But, when my lovely older sister had two beautiful daughters, I fell in love with them. As we grew together, a close connection was formed with them. I am closer to my oldest niece because of similar interests, but I love them both very very much. And I am proud of both of them and their life choices.
The Snapchat photo above is of my adorable great-niece. She is the daughter of my beautiful youngest niece. Now, I don't know how one feels as a parent, but I know how I feel as an aunt and great-aunt. I have an unconditional love for these three. It’s a strange blood connection I guess that makes me feel happy.
As I grew up, I was able to care for and observe the growth of my first two nieces, and now I get to do the same with my great-niece. I might not be in the same town as them right now, but through photos and videos I can watch them all grow together. My two nieces are intelligent, lovely, thoughtful, and kind, and now molding my great-niece into someone special too. She is already showing signs of great intelligence.
Adorable children… We all are still young and still growing aren’t we?
How to you feel about children? Do you have some in your life that brings joy to you?
Until next time, have a wonderful day and God bless.
I have three grandchildren and they never fail to bring a smile to my face and joy to my heart. I love their innocence, their enthusiasm, and their developing interests and personalities. As a grandparent I have more time to watch and participate than I did with my kids when careers and providing for the family took my focus and energy. Retirement would not be nearly as fun or enticing without the blessing of grandchildren.
